If you would like to ‘favorite’ the strip, (and maybe the sketch, too), simply log in and click on the ‘Favorite’ star at the lower right corner of the strip. Mr. McEldowney very kindly asked for us what purpose is served by favoriting, and this was the answer:
I asked my editor at Gocomics about the purpose of “favoriting” a strip. Her answer was this: “‘Favoriting’ allows people following you to see what comics you like. ‘Favorited’ comics also show up under your profile, and allow us to see what comics people are enjoying.”
Basically, I think it provides a method for spreading the word.

Natnailed we are. But, yes, there is a real question, raised first by Nat and also by Margueritem: what’s possessed the girls? (I chose my wording with some thought.)

So how is it that NAT still knows who he is but Dru and Pib are stuck in the dream? Dru is supposed to be immune to dreaming.

The backgrounds have been rather amorphous every since the Succubus-induced car crash; the city-scape hasn’t coalesced around them again. “Where” exactly are we? Physically, Nat and Dru are in the Manhattan volcano and Pib’s frozen body is hundreds of miles away (?) at the scene of Geoff’s late glacier. And - who planted him there in the first place?

Nice going on the B.C. links f-c. I re-read the story last time, when I forget who, posted links and have made my mind as of yesterday morning to accompany my copy of Pibsummer Night’s.. with the other books when they come available.
9C- I’m interested to see how the almighty Monty comes back to shore like as if he never even got dunked, all dry as a dessicated bone, the great power that he purports to be. So far all I’ve heard is talk with no real demos on his part.

Friendship Bread for today is “Oatmeal Chocolate Coconut”
Chocolate goes with everything.
RL has been keeping me busy lately, I have not even had a chance to lurk. Just get my Pib fix and depart - I do miss the interaction.
I don’t think I like the popup box over the strip names- they obscure the list. Just like over @ brand X

The Borgia Cantus is … obvious, but this is not the first time Dru has been trapped in a (period) dream – Geoff’s dream! Of course Geoff is awake & Pib’s in the dream, but the healing version of her kiss works by taking the kissee’s problem onto herself …
MurphyHerself said, 5 months ago
The popups are VERY annoying. I tried to delete them, but of course, we can’t.
Brilliant deduction, invisifan!
Is it worth it to become “genius” to read this arc from the beginning? I feel I’m missing too much and the picayune link goes back only so far.
fear-ciuil said, 5 months ago
@CoBass and Sisyphos, the addition has been noted and made.
@MurphyHerself, the picayune links simply take a little time to manipulate; they’re in the form picayune.uclick.com/comics/pib/YYYY/pibYYMMDD.gif where Y=year, M=month, and D=day. When performing that operation, keep in mind the following:
.1. At one point, Pib ran only M-W-F.
.2. Partway through that period, Mr. McE began running the sketches T-H-S.
Happy hunting! ;-)

Too many changes and too many headaches with this new site!
They took a good thing and made it worse!
“That’s all I can stands, I can’t stands no more!”
.1. I vote for a return to the old site!
.2. I vote for those of us who do sign in, but are not “Genius’” to be allowed to go back in the archives at least a month!
.3. And I vote to allow those who chose not to join or sign in to be allowed to go back a week!
.4. Get rid of the pop-up list!
.5. Get rid of the white background!
.6. When you do sign in, return us to where we left off, not some page that tells us we need this or that!
.7. Restore the dark green for our own posts to make them stand out.
.8. Fill in your own Rant. I’m going to bed!

Mjolnir said: …good pagans (i prefer ‘pagan’ to ‘heathen), being pantheistic, do not proselytize…or, if they do, they only do it obliquely, in comments on comics.
Heh.
Well, pantheism and proselytization are not mutually exclusive.
Re: the HAH site: I don’t see them as proselytizers; my impression is that they exist solely in an attempt to counteract the very negative proselytization of pseudopagan poseurs who promulgate – I did not set out to alliterate – poisonous and pernicious – okay, now I’m doing it on purpose – agendae that misrepresent authentic ancestral religions.
UUs don’t proselytize, either. I think this is a mistake. The world would be more rational if UUs were in charge. There should be lotsa UUs. And since we/they don’t breed very fast (buncha geeks), that leaves proselytization! (Hi, Pibfan!) (I’m a UU on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; and a pagan on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. On Sunday I rest.)
When I am massively sleep-deprived, I tend to break out in parentheses. Goodnight, ever-boddy.

MrMcE really did nicely on the bosums - Dinah’s a little more aggressive and full, while Nonny’s are lovely and indignant, standing up to Dinah’s threat quite nicely.

So, Dru maintains she doesn’t have dreams but Inky stepped into her dreams often in the Lena arc. She even indicated that she had to go to sleep so she could distract him. This has been Geoff’s dream apparently since he was put IN ice. Up until Pib’s Baiser-whatever, She was playing a part but knew who she was, Now in the self-healing part, it’s Pib’s dream. I thought it was Dru who had the big vocabulary and resented anyone who used her verbiage. Now she’s “Huh-What?”
This is someones dream and it consists on Nat Bustard, Dinah Cloverly and Nonny Voglesang. Three characters of the Borgia Cantus. That leaves Geoff and Maurice on the outside, somewhere, carrying a frozen Pibby. Dru and Nat (the two demons) are somewhere within the Volcano and the dream is linked. Somewhere Geoff and Maurice will have to take some Z’s to join the party already in progress. Will Roger, Lena, Igor or Satori make a cameo appearance. Don’t count out Thorax, he’s been involved in several story arcs.
And where is Tom Torquemada lurking? I surely haven’t counted him out yet.
OK, I’m through playing dodge-ball with my brains. Got room on the couch? My tired hurts.

Okay time for me to add my complaint about the new stuff .. sometimes, for no apparent reason, I cannot see comments. I can see how many their are, I can even post, but I can’t see the rest of them! Usually opening a new window lets me see them again. This is really annoying.

Shortly after we accuse him of excesses of sensuality, ah could we but accuse him of accesses to sensuality – as the ubiquitous they say, “There’s the rub,” (“Somewhere in there I lost my train of thought,” said the caboose.) the Master verbally jousts with us in style and intelligence unhorsing us in passing. At least the Master didn’t bait us.

I was just thinking, not often, but enough to remember, I’ve had dreams within dreams. That does get complicated. This is getting complicated. Predictable for Mr. McE. (LOL)
Obviously there is something powerful behind this and the only way out is to play it out. Sometimes one can outsmart the author, other times not.
Nat wisely has put away his gat and quit doing the lip mambo with Dinah for the moment and returned to cigarettes. Cigarettes have always been safer than women. Maybe not as fun at times, but much, much safer.
KC, I think the French all this a ‘bub-a-bub’. But my Frogtalk is a little rusty.
And just for the record, I don’t like the ‘improvements’ to the website either. I think I’d pay a dollar a month to put it back like it was. I don’t need to sign up to be ‘Genius’, I already am. I just want access to the strips.
Fairportfan said, 5 months ago
Okay. Sounds (judging by yesterday’s ellipsis before “Grinder’s” name) that Pib still remembers that this is a fantasy scenario; Dru, as before, has been pulled completely into her character as Diane.
(Incidentally, i’m currently typing on a computer in the public library in DeFuniak Springs, Florida; Kate is undergoing tests at the clinic.)

debra4life50 said:
“How much you wanna bet that Grinder Cohan bears a startling resemblance to Geoff?????”
Well, Yeah - he *is* Geoff - that is, the “Borgia Cantus” character, Grinder Cohan, “Nonny Vogelsang“‘s accompanist, is Geoff, just as “Nonny” is Pib - they are the only characters in the story whow weren’t demonsconstrained into human form and remembered their true identities - Bustard has never been anything other than “Bustard” since he first popped up dry-firing a rifle at the back of Geoff’s head.
Note (as i pointed out) that when she says she’s looking for “Grinder”, Brooke indicates a pause before she says the name.

Another uncharacteristic thing about Dinah and Nonny: at the moment, they seem to be irretrievably caught in a multiply mixed metaphor, compounded with assorted slang of the era. All in all, it seems definite that something is awry in the state of dreams!
