“Pat the Bunny” is the name of a revered children’s book, and is not an actual character, but an invitation for the child to actually pat the fuzzy bunny in the book…
@txmystic: you just confirmed my theory that there’s probably not a single reference Brooke can drop into his strips that at least one couch denizen will recognize. Well done!
Night to all. Now that I know the worst…(at least for the long dry spell til Monday) I’m going to climb that wooden hill to Bedfordshire. Sweet dreams to all.
It’s a good thing Igor can sleep with all this commotion, paciii7223!
Glad to learn about Pat the Bunny (and it’s reassuring to know that he’s not just made-up).
Dali’s gospel singing might be psychedelic, txmystic, but I’d bet it would be fervent, too!

Nice Minotaur!
Some time ago, there was a discussion on t-shirt art. My suggestion was for Dru’s hands reaching out of a monitor, stroking the muzzle of a minotaur and beckoning him to join her. that would be in the first panel. The second panel would have her grip his nose ring, his eyes go wide open. In the third panel, Dru pulls him headfirst into the monitor. The forth panel shows the monitor screen with the word: ”BURP!!”
Sisyphos beside bunny fur there were
other textures for little tykes to feel & experience.
.
gasp! gasp! so long till Monday.
I’m not addicted - I can hold out.
I can! I can! Chocolate need Chocolate.
You all mistake me. I’m not dissing Mama Cass, I’m worried about the end of the arc. Would rum chocolate mousse help Grumpy? I’ve still got some in the refrigerator.
thevenbede ooooooohhhh, I’m sending big warm sun hugs to you. There is a couple who drive into the village most evenings and make churros out of the back of their beat up old pick up truck. They are so so good and cost about 30 cents. I’ll pick some up for you and the couch crew then next time I see them.
CCd LUV it!!
*Tx* does Pat the Bunny sing? That maybe like asking does General Motors hum?
Mama cass is her own circle but her voice was okay. Now Brenda Lee is a blackboard screech of a different color. The Dynamite song she did as a kid wasn’t too shabby though.
http://tinyurl.com/9az4jk Too bad she growed up to be so bad.
I love Mexican food. All of your descriptions sound wonderful. It’s so hard to find good Mexican food sometimes. I used to live in El Paso, so I used to be able to get some great Mexican food. I miss a lot of things I used to get there. Like the gingerbread pigs. Or the ice cream they sold when you were going over the border. And especially Asadero cheese. I sure wish I could find some Asadero cheese around here. I’ve been looking for it for years now with no luck.
I think some of the best Mexican food I eat is in small mom and pop places around the corner from my home in NOR-CAL. I’m sure the locals here would not be pleased but the best carnitas plate hands down is found north of the border.
Ice cream, now that’s a whole ‘nother story. There are some very fine vendors of Mexican Paletas through out the country.
Shalamet you sound as forlorn as Eeyore looks. You have my sympathy.
I bought some Marmite at Vitamin cottage and it’s not bad but I had to cast a net(arr, arr) to find “About Australia”, in San Antonio. Two 14 0z. jars of Vegemite® will be coming forthwith. One for me, one for a friend who was not able to order it through the store…. So fire up the trawler and start casting.
Is it true that Marmite is made of real marmots ? :-I
Excellent Amazing Grace rewrite, Frida Bonita! I’m tempted to post a link to my favorite version on YouTube…. But first: if the Marija Gimbutas link I posted yesterday has mysteriously stopped working for you, as it has for me, try this revised version of the URL: http://tinyurl.com/97pem3
I really enjoy how Brooke put all this fun text into one page… meaning, he easily could have made this into multiple days of comics, and then we’d all be going crazy!
I really, really enjoy this kind of humor. Play on Mr. M!
Okay, Frida, I can’t resist. This version has special resonance for me. The exterior is a series of views over the city of Athens from the Areopagos Hill; I’m not sure whether the interior is the (Orthodox) Cathedral of Athens or not. http://tinyurl.com/2nc3h8 Nana Mouskouri has been as good as there is for many years now.
9CWL: Anyone else had to stop for a second, thinking “Dayum! They lost?”
(I may be pointing out something terribly obvious, but I’ve been up since 5am with barely 4 hours of sleep, and as previously mentioned I don’t drink coffee)
I looked back a few strips, and it suddenly strikes me that there’s no indication as to whether it was A&E or Ms. Yuan who played first. We only saw A&E’s performance, thus we’ve no way of telling who cellist number one is …
Possible clues:
If this is during the first player’s performance … http://tinyurl.com/7sz8d6 … and this (in chronological order) is during the second … http://tinyurl.com/9d5n8m then things are looking good.
A fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms.

Pib once was lost but now is found,
Was bound, but now is free.
T’was Dru that taught my heart to fear.
And Dru, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Dru appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
‘Tis Dru that brought me safe thus far
and Dru will lead me home.
Amazing Dru, how sweet the sound,
That saved the world from Inky.
