    @ncalifgirl58 (your request from yesterday)

    “Very cool big colored letters Alexikakos! How do you do it?”

    Hi, ncali,

    Setting font sizes and colours is actually very basic Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) coding. I just learned to do it myself. There’s a link posted at the bottom of this which will take you to the site where I learned it from.

    The coding form you want is this:

    < font size=“5” color="blue">I’m first!< /font> {The coding to the left will be called “raw form.”}

    The only difference between the above raw form coding and “live” code is there are two spaces where they shouldn’t be. The first is between this      <      and       font size=       and the second is between this      I’m first!<       and       /font> . If you copy and paste the above in a Gocomics comment box and take out those two spaces you’ll end up with this when you click on “SUBMIT”:

    I’m first!

    As you’re dealing with a machine, it must be told everything you want it to do every time you want it to do it. As an example, my coding for yesterday for “I’m first” I’m first” “I’m first” etc. looks like this in raw form:

    < br>< br> < font size=“4” color="red">I’m first!< /font> < font size=“5” color="blue">I’m first!< /font> < font size=“6” color="Purple">I’m first!< /font> < br>< br>

    < font size=“7” color=“#00FF00”>Yay me!!< /font> < br>< br> (The < br>< br> are explained below.)

    Take out the spaces and….

    I’m first! I’m first! I’m first!

    Yay me!!

    Now, so you don’t end up with something like this….

    I’m first! I’m first! I’m first!
    Yay me!!

    ….there’s one more thing; the line break coding. Line break coding lets you choose how many blank lines you want between text lines. Raw line break coding looks like this < br>< br> just take out the spaces between this     <      and this     br>      and the code is live.

    Three things to remember as you’re experimenting.

    1.<font      is telling the machine that it is going to get instructions regarding the font and how to apply them, and      /font>       tells the machine the instructions have ended.
    .

    2.size=”X”, color=”Y” and something else=”Z” are the instructions, and may be submitted to the machine in any order you choose. The quotation marks are part of the coding.

    3.If you’re going to use the coding above as a template, copy and paste it in ‘WordPad” (I don’t know the Mac equivalent) because, for some reason, it doesn’t work if you do it in ‘MicroSoft Office Word.”

    Using coding is far more tedious than complex. Complexity is inventing coding!!

    Now, here is the site where I learned this stuff from.

    This is the home page. Have fun!!

    Please let me know if you got this. Thanks.

    Did Rat just look up Dignity in the dictionary?
    I didn’t think he would be familiar with that word.

    I just remember Ronald Reagan to Walter Mondale: “I would say you spend like a drunken sailor, but that wouldn’t be fair to all the drunken sailors.”
