Right: without adversities you couldn’t have your own adult psychiatric disorders.

Actually, Lucy, the purpose of adversity isn’t to build character so much as it is to reveal it. How we handle adversity teaches us about ourselves. Or, as a wise man once put it, Life is an unorthodox teacher; she gives the test first and the lesson afterwards.

Adversity is a Double-Edged Sword, you either become better or… become Twistedly EVIL.

You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

It’s all the difficult things in life that can happen to people, such as losing a job, losing one’s home, severe illness or injury, losing a loved one, and so forth. The German translation of the word is “Unglück.”

Adversity is part of life. How you handle it is your affair. We all don’t handle such things in the same way. I could do without adversity.
