    Before there was Wikipedia, there was Linus, and he wasn’t so irritated by Sally at the time.

    She’s fine, as long as she’s not calling him her “Sweet Baboo”.

    While Snoopy made that observation in the last panel, Linus went on to tell Sally that the Dog Star is over 20 times brighter than our Sun and twice as massive as it, and that it would take one 92 billion years to get to it if they were to travel towards it at a speed of 65 miles an hour.

    @James

    Wow. Kids are not that smart anymore. Are you really commenting on the intelligence of children today or how educated they are? Do you actually think that IQs (or whatever measure of intelligence you want to use) have decreased? If kids back then were so “smart”, how come only Linus knows this stuff? Was education really better? Do you really think there aren’t any children with Linus’ level of education? Did you know this? If not, does that make you as stupid as today’s children? I hate cynical stupidity.

    Maybe it’s just me… I thought the speed limit in outer space was the speed of light.

    I was always told that the “dog days” were the very hottest days of summer because of the rising of the bright dog star, Sirius. They used to think that the bright star showing up in the sky at that time was making the days hotter.

    Linus’ dialog is written by an adult.

    Another never-reprinted-until-now strip (no, this isn’t a complaint, just an observation).
