    Linus and Lucy’s blanket-hating grandmother was featured numerous times in the strip over the years. She didn’t believe that Linus should be allowed to use a blanket as an emotional crutch, so she was always trying to take it away from him, and he was always trying to outsmart her by finding new ways to hide it from her.

    We never get to see her. We only hear about her.

    Once Linus tried to bluff her (the grandmother) by challenging her to quit smoking and he would give up his blanket.

    it backfired on him pretty spectacularly.

    Interestingly, it’s Linus that makes the argument that Lucy has crabby genes when he says she’s always crabby. If her crabbiness wasn’t genetic, there would have been a time when she wasn’t crabby. Apparently she was crabby in-utero.
