If ever there is an iconic comic strip, it is Peanuts. What began in the funny pages in 1950 has developed into an enduring classic. Whether you're persnickety like Lucy, a philosopher like Linus, a joyous Flying Ace like Snoopy, or a lovable underdog like Charlie Brown, there is something to touch your heart or make you laugh in Peanuts.

Reminds me of the time my school switched to “New Math”.

Kindergarten. This was around the time of the introduction of the so-called “New Math.”

Not really. The New Math was finally abandoned by most schools because it doesn’t actually work. I was just reading Richard Feynman’s autobiography and he discusses this. They brought it into my school in the middle of the semester in second grade, and confused me for the following three years. Our teachers didn’t like it and had a hard time teaching it (I realise now they knew it didn’t really work.) Then I had to change schools for 6th grade—and my new school had never used it. I never did catch up.

Sorry friend. New math does work. The fact that you’re using a computer proves it. Computer languages are built on the binary system which is equivalent to set theory, I.e. they are two models of the same mathematical system.

You must have been sleeping during that class, Sally. That’s one of the first things they teach you before they bring out the heavy artillery.
Tinyman said, 9 months ago
I dont even remember learning that stuff in math. I guess its true that they teach you stuff you never going to use in real life. I never did math like that in real life.
I agree with Sally.
BTW the answer is 4

HAPPY 62ND BIRTHDAY, PEANUTS! On this date in 1950, Peanuts was first published in 9 newspapers. Chuck wasn’t even popular then. “Good ole Charlie Brown. How I hate him.”

But of course, there are disadvantages.
