Hi GoComics readers,
Many of you have expressed curiosity and even concern about the comic hiatus for Pat Oliphant's drawings. We wanted to share that Pat is doing well, in good health, but simply on vacation. As soon as when we have an update on the date of his next drawing, we'll share the news here and via social media.
We have wonderful readers. This is an example of the impact that an artist and their work can have on lives and we will continue to value that relationship with you. Thank you.

Just be glad YOU have a choice — jump, fall, push, or walk away — because the rest of us sure don’t!

Fallback Position:
Whatever the rich guys want is best for the country.

The “Fallback Position” is whatever Citicorp, Goldman Sachs, and BoA TELL them it is!
The Republican party; The BEST Politicians Money can buy!

Good Ole Dependable Oliphant………..you can always count on his being wrong. Obama planned on going going over the so called “cliff” from the beginning. Most Republicans oppose sequestration because of the defense cuts and would prefer a negotiated budget.

If they oppose it so much, they could have fixed theproblem last year. In trying to force Obama’s hand, or hope for a different election outcome, they’ve put themselves in theis position. Be careful what you wish for!

It’s nice to see the dems up early and commenting on here! Wake up America. Tax & spend will turn us into Europe. Is that what we want? What about keeping what you earn & earning your keep? Why does anyone “deserve” the rich man’s money without earning it? Getting something for nothing will be the ruin of this great country. The way it’s run now, I feel sorry for this mess that they’re leaving my kids & I blame the Dems & their gifts to those who don’t or haven’t earned a thing.

Let the dems jump first. They brought us to this ‘cliff’.

Can we push them over a real cliff???

“….What about keeping what you earn & earning your keep? …”
.
Speaking of Europe, Greeks didn’t believe in paying taxes and look where that took them. Countries need to pay their bills and to do that revenue needs to be raised. Part of being a responsible citizen is sharing in the nation’s costs. It is you who is expecting something for nothing.
.
And to blame the Dems is ridiculous. The nation was going into financial free-fall in 2008 when Obama took over.

Apparently the Democrats have already jumped and they are viewing the results.

“What about keeping what you earn & earning your keep?”
-
What about paying your debts?
-
“…I feel sorry for this mess that they’re leaving my kids…”
-
If the mess you refer to is our debt, then shouldn’t we pay it off?
-
“…I blame the Dems & their gifts to those who don’t or haven’t earned a thing.”
-
Our national debt is due to several factors. For you to try to pawn it off on people you’ve demonized while ignoring everyone else who ‘got theirs’ is irresposible self-delusion.

Amen. But of course, it’s much easier to lay blame on others than to accept your resposibilities as a citizen.

Yeah, we should be more like Cuba and North Korea—they don’t have any rich peole there.
Except for the rulers….
