    Ahh . . . RJ?
I wouldn’t get my hopes up, if I were you. Hammy is kinda special: he puts a lot of love into HIS hugs.

Essentially, they are people who live to party and use drugs. Nature’s just their venue for it. The reason why most of them adopt the eco/socialist/naturekilling is as a cause to make themselves feel better about themselves. Because it’s not grounded in good works or science like conservation, environmentalism has consistently produced bad results that harm both humans and forest. The last decade’s worth of catastrophic fires in the cascades and sierras can be placed at their feet. The excuse of “it’s natural” just doesn’t cut it because it isn’t.

Dude, why are you trying to eat Hammy’s scene? This is a comic strip. I believe you are looking for an editorial page.

Go Hammy! And THAT is why I planted four fruit trees in my little back yard. Put a stick in the ground, give it a little love and a little water when it needs it and see what it gives back to you. Amazing. (Here, have a ripe apple.)

Nature can be harsh. Kid Sister’s peach tree was killed by some sort of gopher. The tree produced some fine fruit. Kid Sister will re-plant but now she’s buying hardware to trap and kill the rodents.

Humans always against some part of nature. You might want to plant trees and shrubs that you gopher doesn’t like. Naturally keep it away. Tobacco is good to keep most life away since it is a poisonous plant.

That’s what’s meant by the term “droppin’ a nut.”

Sorry, Kid Sister thinks you’re nuts. The whole idea of planting a garden is for her enjoyment, fresh veggies & such. The gophers will have to take their chances.

So that’s why environ-mental cases are nuts.
