I like her and enjoy her show. She is an Emmy-winning comedy writer and actress and draws comparisons to Tina Fey. I’ve also read her semi-autobiographical book and found it very enjoyable.

When I first saw the previews for her show, she seemed curvier than the usual hollywood fare and that’s not a bad thing.

She’s got nowhere near the talent of Tina Fey. The woman is so self-absorbed, it’s not even funny. “The Mindy Project, starring Mindy as Mindy, written by Mindy, directed by Mindy, and produced by Kaling International, fuelled by tweets from Mindy telling Mindy fans how awesome/smart/sexy/beautiful Mindy is.”

Do agree there’s far too much emphasis on stick figures in modern society, and seeing normal physiques featured on TV is a very good thing, though.

Isn’t that just social media taken to the logical extreme? I hear, but find it hard / am extremely reluctant to believe that people actually tweet / otherwise communicate the minutiae of their lives. At my most scintillating, charming, amusing self I find it hard to believe even my nearest and dearest want to track my life minute to minute.

Oh, how I wish that were the case. I handle some of the social media outreach for my company (must have done something horrific in a past life) and the “twitterverse” is something to behold. There are an inordinate amount of celebrities out there who not only tweet, but do so 30-40 times a day. Likely this is often done by people they hire to be their twitter ‘writers’ (I kid you not!) but in many cases it’s a case of a celebrity with FAR too much time on their hands.
