    “In Scandinavia, storks – gentle birds with strong family ties,
    habitually nested on top of peoples chimneys. So when Scandinavian
    parents needed to explain to youngsters how babies arrived, the stork
    was a handy answer. This traditional tale was spread in the 1800s by
    Hans Christian Anderson, in his fairy tales.”
    Just thought this was a fun bit of trivia, I wondered about this myth years ago, and had to look it up then in the library, and had to ask one of my favorite teachers at the time for help.

    They have cookies at your local Red Cross blood donation center. You also get a nice warm fuzzy Hammy feeling knowing you’re selflessly saving the lives to up to 3 people with your donation (they separate whole blood into various components).

    @Boots at the Boar

    The one time I donated blood, the other donors seemed to be laughing at me for eating too many cookies. I don’t know, I might not have been in my best mind. I got up and started walking through my community college campus (where I donated blood), when I started to feel weak, heard an overpowering ringing in my ears, and everything was fading into a dull dark green. I had to sit down. I should have been eating more cookies.
