Over the Hedge, created by T Lewis and Michael Fry, takes a freshly skewed look at suburban living from the perspective of the animals who lived there first. The strip stars RJ, a mischievous raccoon, and Verne, his sensitive best-buddy turtle. Together they fight to save their wooded wonderland from the evils of encroaching suburbia but end up becoming distracted by wide-screen TVs, discarded fast food containers and the fun of wreaking havoc on the local homeowners' association.

The “scientists” in that movie were utterly idiotic.

Alien planet? No prob, let’s take off our protective helmets? Oddly phallic corpse-hued appendage waving in the air out of a puddle of noxious goo? No prob, I’ll try to pet it.
These guys totally deserved every awful thing that happened to them. If they are the “omega” of the “Earth Experiment,” no wonder the damn Engineers were so disappointed.
Imagine if you woke up from a Billion Year Nap and found that the Grand Experiment had produced a race of Hairy Smurfs? Would you not be majorly disappointed?
I thought the movie was very good, but the message was soooo bad. Thanks again, Ridley. There’s another decade of therapy you’ve cost me.

Spoilers are only a problem if the movie isn’t pre-spoiled…

Prometheus made me think I was watching Wrong Turn in Space, just waiting for Jason Vorhees to jump up out of an alien sarcophagus.

And why are RJ and Verne allowed in a movie theater? Did nobody pass by 2 seats with a racoon and a turtle in them and not think to call management?
