She’s right, they’re not all bought by corporate lobbyists. A huge chunk are bought off by the corrupt unions.

Connecticut’s Joe Lieberman may be the only completely honest senator. He actually tells people what he really thinks, and has p.o.‘d both Democrats and Republicans (he was Al Gore’s running mate in 2000, and is now an independant). And after about 24 years in the Senate, he’s quitting.

Corruption via lobbyists happen on both sides. The right just utilizes them more.

@exoticdoc2, unionS are not corrupt. Don’t cave in to Republican garbage rhetoric.

You are entitled to your opinion. Personally, I thought he was a self-serving opportunist, and a whiner who was extremely anti-Palestinian and overly pro-Israeli.

Every time a politician does tell the truth, those who don’t want to hear it are appalled, angry, aghast, etc. The truth hurts and that’s why people get upset and have knee-jerk reactions. Bring back the Ronal Reagans and Andrew Jacksons. They were not necessarily popular but they had guts and determination to get things done.

Ditto about Ron Paul, the only honest one. Never voted for an unbalanced budget, never voted for a war, never voted to take away our liberties never voted to violate his oath to the Constitution (if you know what that is—or have ever read it?).

@wowbert: Sometimes, like now, during a depression, you WANT an unbalanced budget. And Ron Paul’s bogus ideas on economics are pretty frightening. Better not have anyone like him making policy.
