Reminds me that the Revelation of John symbolizes Satan as a dragon. The father of all bureaucracy? Oh, surely not… Ahahahaha

So true. That’s one crafty dragon!

Sure a lot nicer-looking dragon than the one in Revelation. Ten heads and ten horns and a fatal wound that had been healed in one of them?

Interesting, too, that he’d gone from a “serpent” in the garden of eden to a “dragon” by the time of Revelation.

Interesting, too, that this comment caused the machine to “blink”, logging me out, completely, the first time.

Alternate solution: “War on Dragonism.” That could go on endlessly without even having to fundraise!

I believe that was Draco’s argument in “Dragonheart”. It turned out he wasn’t the last. The female killed early in the movie had a baby, as we discovered in Dragonheart 2” (only on DVD)

back in my day..I’m 54, I actually had a teacher who taught us that war was good for the economy and was needed for “population control”….that’s about as hard core as you can get…and the sad part is, most accept it as fact..

How long was Polio researched before the cure? Somewhere there are stories of illnesses that had fundraisers and were actually cured!

I was thinking of this not only from the “war” prospective but also for all the large fundraisig groups that are looking for cures and such….granted, they do tend to be helpful but what would happen if there really was a cure for cancer….what would the Am. Cancer Society do then….just being antagonistic this morning…

POTREBIE Didn’t Salk develop his vaccine independently of those proffessional fundraisers? They saw they were without a job so they switched to birth defects, so many causes that they will be employed till Gabriel blows his horn and someone has to account.

A cure for cancer won’t happen; a cure for a specific type, possibly, but each form of cancer is different and needs to be targeted in a specific way. Unfortunately, one-size-fits-all treatments we are so accustomed to (for bacterial and fungal infection) don’t work with cancer or many types of retroviruses. If a cure were found, however, the researcher would probably do just like all other research in this field; publish it. Once published and tested by other researchers, the original discoverer would likely receive an award of some kind and quite probably a considerable reputation boost within the scientific community. Many scientists are notoriously driven to share what they learn.

BIg pharma doesn’t like cures, they want treatments that go on and on.

Didn’t Wiley have one with a “eureaka” moment a while ago?

In the case of diseases like cancer and AIDS, prevention is FAR easier than cure. But there’s no money in that…
