Certainly any subject such as this one can have either (or both) sides exaggerated to the point that we can consider it meaningless.
But consider this: A bunch of white guys walk into a restaurant and loudly announce they are packing heat, expecting all patrons to feel safer because they are there to protect them. They eat, they pay, they go to the next place to proudly display their weaponry.
A black man purchases a BB gun and ends up shot dead by police because someone saw a black man in public with a gun.
If you don’t think that prejudice enters the picture, you are intentionally fooling yourself.
