I won’t get that station if I keep using Bright House.
I read that DirectTV has it.

Americans have no use for accurate journalism. A poll from PPP today found that a majority of Louisiana Republicans, asked who was most responsible for the inadequate Federal response to Hurricane Katrina, chose President Obama. Hatred matters more than facts. Bobby Jindal, get used to the fact that you’re in the stupid party.

Just read the PPP poll results, Holy Cow, just reinforces the ignorance and unjust hatred of too many voters. Those polled were not “dim-libs” but “Real Americans” how disappointing.

Who wants a propaganda TV outlet for the Muslim Brotherhood in America?
    -
from MEMRI.org….a translation group to give Westerners the English words for what Arabic media publishes. News article reprint in a monthly magazine I get…."..in July 2013, a number of Al Jazeera employees resigned in protest over the channel’s bias. They approached the channel’s management in Qatar with the demand that it retract its editorial policy which FAVORS THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD.
    -
The American satellite will be airing false “news”…already they are accused of airing fake “death” of "victims of the Egyptian military, even when the video ended with the “dead man” moving….this is SOP by Arabs in the Mideast. Fake and Accuse….given time the truth emerges, too late to nullify the damage done by lies against Arab enemies.
    -
I do not plan to watch Al Jazeera, just as I avoid media known for bias against traditional US history and traditional history of the world, especially Israel. Every consumer of “news” has an obligation to “verify” and not swallow false propaganda and then pass it on in conversations as “truth”….

They Blame Obama for poor response to Katrina!!??
He wasn’t even well known that long ago.
It’s true, hatred is the number 1 plank in the GOP platform!
    2. is to convince people that everyone on government assistance are lazy no good bums.
I have a mother who has severe dementia, Thank God for medicaid. 1 in 8 women over 70 have dementia, that probably includes members of the GOP. Do they want to get rid of that and become full time caretakers of their parent who needs constant suppervision? who needs to wear diapers? Who has to be rolled over regularly to prevent bedsores?
Most older people who are on Social security and medicare have worked most of their lives paying into those programs.

Toss out a line like that and then say “cue trolls”, I need not go on.
    .
On a personal note, I use all the news outlets, including Fox and PBS, and will add Jazeera to the list as well.
I find the disparity between reports as enlightening as the reports themselves at times.

Dish started last night with Al Jazeera America: in what I’ve watched so far, they far exceed the quality of journalism presented by any U.S. source. I’ve gone to their on line service for some time, and found it accurate, so will see how the new network does. (They were even better and more accurate in covering the wild fire situation in the U.S. than our networks!)

Really? You avoid FoxNews? I would not have thought so, given your views.

I have been a loyal channel surfer for years when it comes to news. No sense getting all the lies from just one source/viewpoint, so last night and still today I have added Al America to the line up. You can’t have an informed opinion unless you are informed!

    @ARodney

Are you implying that most Americans are journalists, then? I suppose that is accurate in the Internet Age where anybody can be a blogosphere journalist, as Journalists have historically shown little love for accuracy in reporting.

@Motive….I watch Fox News because their news checks out, and they have NO bias against our American traditional values and they show no bias against Israel.
    -
Today, my 81st birthday, I found a review by a Professor who has “more than 20 years experience in media NEWS, with AP, Newsweek, ABC News, and 20/20”….

    -
Of course, if you are a poster who personally is biased against American and Christian and Israeli values, you will like Al Jazeera’s propaganda.

I am an American, and proud of it, descended from the Massachusetts Bay Colony on one side and with immigrant grandparents on the other. My kids go to Catholic schools.
FoxNews has been CONSISTENTLY shown to be biased and outright erroneous. FoxNews viewers are consistently found to be more inaccurate in their knowledge of current events.
I’m not suggesting that any of the alternatives are great sources, either — but you may want to broaden your reading or viewing.
    Happy birthday, incidentally.

@Motive…thanks, it was nice getting cards and phone calls
(usually with the Q “do you feel any older”? and I tell them that my mind feels young but my body is showing signs of wear…ha.)
    -
I’m happy to know you are truly American and have a Faith.
I doubt Fox News has a record of more errors than the other 24/7 news channels….who keeps track officially? But as Canadian Canuck posted about Malkin, she definitely has traditional values and the public speakers she named are very remiss in being unbiased in their ignoring cases of blacks committing violence on whites, while manufacturing false alarms as in the Zimmerman neighborhood watch and Martin’s reactions to just being watched….not a “race case” at all…..Martin attacked and hurt Zimmerman who reacted in self-defense. Jackson and Sharpton may be aiding and abetting in the ongoing protests using false “white murder of black” themes.
    -
Fox has many Liberals on regularly to opine. They do try to be “fair and balanced”…..when you watch coverage more hours daily and learn the truth about their balance of both lib and conservative opinions.
    -
IMO all news networks err when they just read the politicians and government “handouts”…..then they get blamed for reporting what the liars told them.
