Not just Obama. Apparently, 395 out of 435 members of the House, agree.

The Israelis can pay for Iron Dome. Our money let’s them spend money on other things.

So rocket attacks on Israeli civilians are ok, but Israel responding to those with force is not?
OK Matt….. Maybe we should let one of our only democratic allies in the Middle East be annihilated by a terrorist group.
    Sound good?

I condemn that Hamas uses civilians as a shield!

With the concrete that Hamas used to build their tunnels – which was used to kill, kidnap or create terror in Israel – you could have build 7 buildings of a similar size of the tallest buildings.

Just remember America went to war after two buildings were destroyed by two attacks. Thousands of rockets have been fired into Israel, how would America react? Each of the rockets is designed to kill civilians – Hamas does not care where it lands.

Israel is not totally innocent, but we must not forget that Hamas has its hands black with the blood of its own civilians!

In 1933, the new Chancellor of Germany said he was going to remove all the Jewish traitors who had caused Germany’s defeat in WWI. Westphalia gave him that right. He kept saying his plan was to remove every Jews from Europe. Jews who could afford a ticket on a ship tried to leave Europe, but the rest of the world said, ‘NMP.’ So the ‘Final Solution’ was to kill all the European Jews (but military defeat prevented the completion of that ‘Final Solution’).

Beginning in 1946, Truman said all European Jewish refugees must be relocated to Palestine, which the British had declared was to be a homeland for all the British Jews who were not really welcome in Britain, and the UN had agreed that 1/6 of Palestine would be for the Jews, 1/2 for the Palestinians, and the 1/3 around Jerusalem/Al Quds would be administered by Britain as a place where all three Abrahamic religions could go on pilgrimage (if they could afford the British visa fees). But the 1/6 set aside by the UN for the Jews was a) unacceptable to the Palestinians who would be displaced; and b) not large enough to hold all the Jews from European refugee camps.

The Jewish refugees managed to evict almost all the Palestinians from 2/3 of Palestine and in 1948 the US was the first nation to recognise that the Jews had every right to their 2/3. The displaced Palestinians went to refugee camps in other Arab nations, including Egypt (Gaza) and Jordan (West Bank and the Trans-Jordan). In 1967, Israel launched what it said was a pre-emptive strike against Arab armies they said were about to attack, and took the remaining 1/3 of Palestine and imposed harsh restriction on the Palestinians who had been living there, and also took bits of land from that 1/3 and displaced more Palestinians who, again, had to go to refugee camps.

The displaced Palestinians still want their homes back after 66 years. So the Israelis have them on reservations like Gaza with limited food, water, electricity, and building materials, because the Palestinians in Gaza use what they have to fight back, shooting mostly firework-quality rockets over the fence that surrounds Gaza (using some food items, electricity, and building materials that somehow get past Israeli checkpoints). Israel responds by ‘Mowing the Lawn’, killing about 1% of the Palestinians in Gaza every few years.

It is generally accepted that the only path to peace is The American Way: America was set aside by G_d for WASPs, and the displaced indigenous people, once called ‘Red Savages’ but whose very few survivors are now called ‘Native Americans’ fought against their displacement until 99% had been eradicated, leaving just 100,000 out of 10 million who remain peacefully on reservations as tourist attractions.

But Israel needs support to survive, and could lose that essential support if they killed off 99% of all Palestinians, so the only possible solution anyone can see is regularly ‘Mowing the Lawn’ and killing 1% of so, so as not to alienate the Americans who see killing 1% or so as acceptable.

(A minority of Americas note that, since the Palestinians are Arabs, and the Israelis do not intend to kill a significant percentage of Arabs outside Israel, it would not be Genocide to kill ALL the Palestinians, just ethnic cleansing. But the majority of Americans might say that was going too far, and that’s a risk Israel has not been willing to take, as of current date.)

I guess another solution would be if everyone stopped killing each other and over a few generations they could probably trust each other enough to open borders and drop most restrictions. But then again, I guess it’s more fun to have a war every few years.

    “…another solution…”

You know who had a “final solution”?

Balto Bill. I’ve been trying to figure out your remark to Mr. Lind. He makes a good point. We live together in peace for awhile, we’ll start to forget our stupid hatreds. You bring up Hitler. Are you saying Lind’s comment is Hitler-like?

That has to be the most ill-informed piece of nonsense I’ve had to read on this website.
I would suggest reading a history or 3 of the Arab-Israeli Conflict and not believing stuff you read on the Internet.

Did you happen to see last Sunday’s Doonesberry? An excellent commentary on conservative satire.

Obama condemn’s anything that is done by Jews.He did listen to the Reverend Wright for 20+ years.
Total aid to Israel from 1949 to date is 1.6 % of the 7.15 trillion that the democrats have thrown away since Obama got in office.Since Obama got in office Israel has gotten 17.6 billion or .2 % of the money spent by Obama since 2009.How many F-16’s did they get?How many F-16’s went to Muslim countries?

The cartoon misleadingly suggests that Israel is deliberately attacking civilians. While this would be accurate if said of Hamas, Israel is in fact taking extraordinary measures to try to avoid killing civilians in Gaza. I say “extraordinary” in the sense that I am unaware of any other army, including that of the United States, which has taken so much care in similar circumstances (which include an enemy making extensive use of human shields) to avoid civilian casualties.

Yea it has nothing to do with the fact that Israel is just defending itself.

Well, you have to look very hard to see Obama racing to defend Israel. He did send John Kerry, (who has vast wartime experience from his service in Viet Nam), to frown and tsk-tsk and tut-tut as much as he finds necessary.
Just as soon as I get the range and timing dialed in, I’m going to purge that whole side of the world with a solar mass ejection, unless I miss and hit my side of the world instead.
    In that case, oh well…
