If there is any corruption or abuse of power worthy of impeachment or indictment anywhere within the current administration, then I am wholly ignorant of it, and perhaps much else. But I kind of like it that way. Wake me when it’s my turn to hold the whip and everybody else’s turn to fear me.

Life is absurd, and I like to keep track of bits of various absurdities. I have a thick file, as you can imagine.
    .
There were calls for Obama’s resignation before he even took office. Hilarious, I thought, Albert Camus would be delighted. I thought the hysteria in politics would surely settle down, but my file gets thicker by the day.
    .
Thanks to those of you who contribute to it on a regular basis!

BrassOrchid: There is the main grounds for impeaching a president – he is a Dem0ocrat. No others have ever been, despite Teapot Dome, giving away the National Parks system, wiretapping the opposition, and handing the military over to Halliburton.

“But the important thing to know is Obama knows nothing, Nothing, nothing,”

As opposed to Reagan, who remembered nothing, nothing, nothing?

Subpoena Holder’s non-listed government and private e-mail accounts. It seems that a good bit of government business is being done on other than listed accounts. But then, if these “private” accounts are as pervasive as the AP is suggesting perhaps the issuing agency might not want a subpoena issued on their agency so they won’t issue a subpoena. Aaah, transparency in government. We probably haven’t had it since the publishing of the Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers.

ya, but when did Reagan just tell his staff he was off the clock at 5 pm?
Obama was told that our ambassador was UNDER ATTACK on 9 11 12. But Obama had a Vagus fund raiser in the morning so who knows what he did or did not do that night. Plausible deniability? Eric Holder visited with Obama how many times before the election? How about Obama’s IRS person? How many times did Obama meet with him before the election? Does Obama know what was done in the name of getting him elected?

I am not sure why you would want to be wholly ignorant, but put yourself in place of anyone who has been effected by these actions we are now debating, then read up on law and tell me there is nothing here worth indictment or termination for in this Administration. Does no one on the left even understand that Ignorance is not a defense? This Administration has been claiming innocence by ignorance. That would mean this administration is inept and should go.

    “…Ignorance is not a defense?”

The EPA used to have a policy for violations of their regulations- “because of your position, you should have known”. I guess the inverse doesn’t apply to government officials.

“Subpoena Holder’s non-listed government and private e-mail accounts. It seems that a good bit of government business is being done on other than listed accounts.”

Good idea. The reason given for separate e-mail accounts is to keep the junk mail out. I can’t accept that. Can spammers get into government agencies’ e-mail? If so, can’t the Chinese? We should have one secure account per person; one that cannot be deleted.

If Mr. Holder’s e-mail is subpoenad, and he pulls a Cheney (they just disappeared…don’t know how that could have happened), do you think we’d get the same reaction? (Reminder: the reaction at that time was, “Oops. Well, things happen.”) I think not.

This reminds me of the National Lampoon’s sendup of the Watergate hearings with Sirica the Grouch and the Shredder Monster. My favorite quote: “What did the president know, and when did he stop knowing it?”

I pushed my soul in a deep dark hole and then I followed it in.
I watched myself crawlin’ out as I was a-crawlin’ in.
I got up so tight, I couldn’t unwind.
I saw so much I broke my mind.
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.
    (Lyrics by Mickey Newbury)
(Recorded by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition in 1968.)
Those who do not learn from history are justified by it. Pbbbbbt!
