This is the first strip? Good, now I can see what happened before I was born and catch up.

If you want to read them all without any cliffhangers, just go to the real Luann.

I’m so happy to see this! I always liked the strip but never was able to see it everyday. Thanks GoComics and Greg

Yes, a tape recorder. What are you, 10? Even so, it is sad so many young people don’t know or want to know anything about anything before they were born. We’re becoming a nation of ignoramuses.

Yep. People used to use them to take personal notes, or in this case, record a diary. Computers weren’t common 28 years ago, and doing this would be (to some people) easier than writing in a diary by hand.

This is one of those times that I can say I was there for the beginning of the strip! Wow, I had that tape recorder, too. But I didn’t get to have the mic like she did.. Had to just speak up into the built in one it came with. I tried to use it to tape off the tv and the radio. Had to be REAL QUIET….. lol!

That attitude is encouraged by the consumer oriented entertainment media. You can’t make the big bucks selling things that aren’t around anymore, so who cares about history?
