As I recall, after the Phipps Bend nuclear plant was shut down, the Snail Darter showed up in several other areas. Not really endangered, just hard to find.
Or you could be listening to rumors from the internet, jmc. Got any proof?
they were actually preserved for the contradiction in their name. Ever see a snail dart?
