    I remember watching the original on video. The professor —in a high-pitched voice— yelps “help me!” while in a spider web. His former associate —who was at a park bench— notices and smooshes the scene with a rock.

    I’m sure Lio would have thought the movie was a comedy…

    depends on which branch of Buddhism. Some have warrior traditions. The Tibetans held off the Chinese for 2 years. The Tamils have had one war after another.

    Dad is evidently not the world’s greatest housekeeper. There are more spiders, of more varieties, in Lio’s room than I would have thought possible—unless they were bussed in for story-night….

    Let’s hope the book’s based on the 1950s version rather than the uber-yukky 1980s remake.
