Picture me as the subject of “The Scream” by Edvard Munch. I’m SO O O O confused. Since Paige switched websites some time back, I’ve completely lost the timeline. Whatever happened to the Five C’s of storytelling: character, conflict, cure, change, carryout message? Plots can have Red Herrings, but they have to advance – even flashbacks are intended to advance a story by providing motive and/or insight into a character who will figure prominently in ensuing chapters (strips.) I keep hoping for more plot development.

Nice background drawing on this one. I have a feeling Paige enjoyed drawing that lovely Pacific coastline. Hmmmm…and an interesting flashback here.

I no rite? It’s almost as weird as all those comic strips with nothing but straight (and shapely) women in them. huh.

What I find interesting is that in the first panel Jane is still wearing shades and a collar shirt and in the last one she’s back to clear glasses and her traditional black t-shirt

Dixie is straight — and the aliens took her away.

@partyalldatyme It’s not a month ago, it’s a month into Jane & Chelle’s non-dating relationship, which happened some (I’m not sure when) time ago.

So Jane’s mother is a lesbian – and Jane is a lesbian – but she doesn’t consider her mother to be a mother because she is a lesbian?

That’s – so messed up and such a slap to the lesbian mothers out there who have done a great job raising their children.

Is anybody who’s posting comments today actually paying attention to the strip? It’s hard to tell from the comments.

It would be nice to have some continuity…but if Citizen Braddock has more lucrative work elsewhere, I understand.

I was wishing for background on Chelle’s relationship with her mother. Guess that’s being delivered. Thank you, Paige.

The more I read (or re-read) this series, the more fascinating I find the relationship between Jane & Chelle. While not really right for each other as lovers, they do seem to make good friends. I suspect a big part of it is that Chelle tends to be very suspicious / distrusting of many people, and realizes that whatever faults she might have, Jane is one person she can count on who would never deliberately do anything to hurt her.
