Last night I watched on Democracy Now Amy Goodman & Juan Gonzalez talking with Mark Holden, the senior VP of Koch Industries, and Van Jones.
Since I came across the channel in the middle of their chat, it took me a couple of minutes to register that Mark Holden wasn’t being demonised, criticised or attacked. The Koch dude was eloquent, spoke perfect sense and was agreeable. I was taken aback. A Koch dude reasonable?! Van Jones then took a couple of minutes aside to praise Mark Holden’s (and Koch Industries’s) position on Criminal Justice & prison reform. He also mentioned how bizarre it might appear to most (glad I wasn’t the only one!) and that although it was Koch industries that successfully lobbied to have him lose his position at the White House, he said that it didn’t stop him from working with them in something they were in perfect agreement with.

Indeed. Still, I was gobsmacked.
