    I guess you would have said the same things about those rioters against King George in 1776.

    Sorry but I am going to have to disagree with you, the guy in power now did a one eighty when he took office and is working with Putin. The people fighting so far are only protesting in one square when the cops started this stuff.

    So far it is not a civil war yet and here’s hoping it stays that way. If it does Putin will roll in with tanks the same way he did in Georgia. Personally I say get there first and dig in but President Obama will do nothing, right after the Olympics something scary may happen.

    The funny thing about diplomacy is that you don’t see what’s happening until it’s over. The good thing is that young people don’t have to die while we’re trying other alternatives.

    Are you willing to start another Cold War? And why is it that conservatives get so bent out of shape if we spend too much money, unless it’s war: then we have an unlimited supply.

    No you are wrong, if Russia takes control of Ukraine that would be a start of a cold war. When ever Russia has had control of that region it has been an Empire and has negative Western influence be it Russia or Soviet Union. Without it it is still an Asiatic power.

    Want to avoid a cold war keep Russia out.

    The Ukrainian government agreed today to restore the constitution, hold an early election this year and end martial law

    Personally I think Cold War II has already started. But this time, the positions are reversed in a way. We’re the ones who are teetering on the verge of collapse and they’re growing stronger. We live in interesting times.

    Help me understand: you want to “dig in” in the Ukraine in order to start a war to preserve peace?

    No I want to make sure it doesn’t start.

    What do you suppose would have happened here if the Occupy protester had gotten violent like they have in Kiev? Probably much worse than what has happened in the Ukraine.

    We were doing all that then. And Russia is doing all that now as well. As has almost every other country/nationality at some point in their history. Every country takes it’s turn as being the bad guy.

    Freedom to be violent is a bad idea. It can only escalate unless the violence stops.

    @warjoski

    If you want a hot war Ukraine is the place for it. Unless it splits and the South goes join the EU and the North with Russia.

    Then you agree with what happened today. I am happy to see it since a burning Ukraine is not good for anyone, at all.
