    There is no good reason to believe that Shakespeare wasn’t Shakespeare. The deVere and Bacon fictions have been disproved many times, including recently by Bill Bryson.

    Actually, William Shakespeare did not create those plays. They were written by someone else with the same name.

    They were written by a committee, none of whom could agree on how to spell the surname. (Spelling wasn’t invented until the mid-19th century, and he spelled it several ways in his will. Yes, we have Will’s will.)
