Later on in life, Elizabeth befriends a girl in that sort of get-up if I recall. Candace, right?

If they want to look like freaks they should expect people to notice them.

When I was younger I met a woman who was wearing a t-shirt with an interesting saying on it. She became upset that I was a slow reader.

I once had a t shirt that read,
    “I’m in search of myself.
    Have you seem me anywhere?”

you are right Elizabeth, folks that dress in strange and unusual ways do want you to look at them, that is why they do it. They just want to draw attention to themselves because they think they are special. NOT

Have to be careful. Stare at the wrong person and it could set them off.

Wrong. That is your judgement of them because you do not like what they chose to wear.

Guess what? People who dress differently do so to please themselves and it has absolutely nothing to do with you.
