Good morning, Vagabonds. yes, Slim is right when he says old age is not for sissies. Sunday I rested from the walking and carrying I did on Friday and Saturday. I’m glad you all liked my photos from the Turkish parade. I got 5 favorable comments after posting them on Facebook.

Today I have errands to do, but rain is expected for 3 days – not a good time to do laundry or hang out in Bryant Park.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.
Arye, very colorful pictures. I guess New York has more ethnic celebrations than any other city in the country!

    Good morning Vagabonds,
Going to off and on rain for most of the week. I guess we were lucky to get in the yard work that we did today getting the garden ready for planting. If it ever warms up enough.
@dkram; I have been thinking about putting in the poem that you did only my third line was different. It was “I wonder where the birdies iz.”

    Morning, Vagabonds.
    Five Weeks.
We’re starting to move stuff over to the new house. Yesterday I carted over a load of storage boxes from the attic. I figure to move the attic first, then the garage, then the spare bedrooms and then the spare bathroom. But we hired a mover to carry the big stuff. They will be here on June 3. We hope to have everything else moved by then.

    Good morning Vagabonds.
    .
Well David, you’ll be passing the mantle soon, any words of wisdom to the future Deacons and Elders that will come?

    .
Oh yes, Arye, I liked the pictures on facebook, I haven’t looked in my e-mail yet.
    .
    A good day for all.

Had some light rain last night but the sun is out with the temp about low 70’s. Don’t think we will do any thing out side today. My wife has an eye doctors appointment at 11 am and we probably won’t get out of there until 12: 30. After that I think we will just crash for the rest of the day. We are worn out from yesterday. The body ain’t what iy used to be. As Ayre and Slim say, “It’s tough to get old.”

    Good Morning, Everyone,

Enjoyed the rain yesterday! It’s great to have it fall so gently, and then enough of it to actually soak into the ground. We are supposed to have showers off and on all week.

Cancer doctor today for my 3 month check up and blood work.

5 weeks, David…….woo hoo! Sounds like you’re doing your move in a very logical manner! Take lots of pictures for us. :))

I know you will fare better than we did in moving a little at a time. At least you are just across town, not 200 miles away and you can do more than one load per weekend. It took us six months and was NOT fun.
Just a suggestion: UHaul works with a service called Moving Help. You rent and drive the truck and hire movers at both ends of the drive to load and unload. That’s what we did and it cost us a LOT less than hiring a moving truck and crew. Other than the drive they did all the work. (Note: If you do it that way, rent furniture pads. (Do a mental count of how many you will need for each piece of furniture, then add 10.) and when you turn them back in, fold them into quarters. Some U-Haul places charge you extra to refold them.)

Has anyone besides me had issues with azcentral comic strips? It goes through the motions, but no strip, and I don’t see a notification of any options. But then I’m not very computer smart.

@SLIM. I’ve been told to click on “buy a print” but now I don’t have to. The only comic I can’t see is “Baby Blues.”

@DAVID: If you have time, why not go through the boxes you have in storage to see if there’s anything you no longer need? No point in bringing unwanted stuff to your new home.

Good idea, Arye. We did that, too. Just be careful. There is at least one box of books that we wanted to keep that got accidentally donated.

I appreciate the advice. Since we’re only moving three blocks, we hired a local mover to move the big stuff and we’re just moving the little stuff. The Conference is paying the mover, but I’ll get a 1099 so Uncle Sugar can his share of taxes off of it.

I was having trouble last week, but it seems to be working fine now.
