"Garry Trudeau is the premier American social and political satirist of his time." -Newsweek Doonesbury has managed to be articulate, abrasive, political, compassionate, misunderstood, misprinted, and outrageous - but one thing it's never been is complacent. Garry Trudeau's creation has chronicled American history and culture in a parallel universe. And through it all, Doonesbury has always been honest, entertaining, and thought-provoking.

The French guy must be a Gaullist.

Romney’s eyes are burning like the fires of the Spanish Inquisition.

DTpi (and MT);
Re yesterday’s comments on 230+ comments being a record!
Not so, the story arc on the Texan law requiring TVUS for anyone wishing an abortion had other 300 comments on a couple of days!

“Young Mitt prepares for a life of ANNOYING people”, but then he found his true calling in ANNIHILATING people’s livelihoods while at Bain Capital, and later on, in ALIENATING at least 47% of the American people in his campaign for the Presidency .

@Mike31g
Yesterday’s Doonesbury boasted at least 255 comments. My thread still exists. I have no problem with Mike31g’s claim.

@OldEd…
Then you would be voting for a dictatorship by a person known to have been brought up as an unquestioning Muslim who has been educated and tutored by Marxists, Communist,s Socialists and God knows what else. No thank you.. I’ll take my chances with a Mormon (who may or may not be a strict follower of Mormonism)

Most of the things you are claiming here as truth are lies, Obama was not raised a Muslim etc etc, so by definition you, sir are a Liar!

@Redkaycei Repoc
This from factchecker.org ……
President Barack Obama is a Christian, but a minority of the American public keeps telling pollsters he’s a Muslim.
The Pew Research Center recently reported that 18 percent of Americans believe Obama is a Muslim, up from 11 percent in March 2009. A Time magazine poll found even more — 24 percent — said he was a Muslim.
PolitiFact has done extensive fact-checking on Obama’s faith and has debunked false claims in chain e-mails that he attended a radical Islamic school, that his political rise mirrored a biblical tale about the Antichrist, and that he took the oath for U.S. Senate on a Koran. All three earned our lowest rating, Pants on Fire.

Looking at that Gallic schnoz, I’m reminded of Gerard Depardieu.

DTpi,
Checked, the strip in question peaked at 290 comments (Thursday), and ran in March: http://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/2012/03/12.
More worrying is that GoComics have censored the original strip and replaced it with a story arc of Jeff and Zipper in a coffee shop. The comments clearly indicate that was the week of those controversial strips (which were pulled by several newspapers).
Now I’m wondering which arc (if any) did manage 300+ comments (could be my pre-senile dementia kicking in of course).

@MassieVoter
There’s a huge problem here, though, MassieVoter. The American people were so moved by Romney’s vigorous debate performance that the Pew poll, for instance, has Romney leading Obama by 4% among likely voters.

Unbeweevable but twue. Shades of G.W.Bush beating Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004.

In honor of the strip being set in France this week… check out this fantastic musical parody of a “Les Miserables” song, which supports President Obama’s re-election.

Isn’t he the one who recently peed on the floor of a plane in flight?
DylanThomas3.14159 said, 8 months ago
“The French actor Gerard Depardieu gave the passengers on a CityJet flight from Paris to Dublin quite the show on Tuesday when he reacted to the news he would not be allowed to use a bathroom until after take off by urinating on the plane’s carpet in full view of the cabin.”
