    Geo[rgios] Decopolus [Dekopoulos] seems to be of Greek ancestry. With his nurse Gloria and nurse’s assistant Mina, he could not possibly be Mr. Crime, could he? Or is he the next innocent victim? Gloria looks bad to the bone, whatever George turns out to be….

    I hereby resolve to QUIT trying to guess where the storyline is going as as an adult and just enjoy the ride as a little kid!!

    @Sisyphos

    He’s not Mr. Crime. He actually first appears in the strip during the Measles storyline on Feb. 11, 1945 as the proprietor of a flower shop, where he quickly hires Gravel Gertie, newly freed from jail. He’ll later proved flowers for the nuptials of Gravel Gertie and B.O. Plenty, and has been the neighbor of the Plentys for over 65 years. Whatever is going here, he’s the victim. The fact that the mysterious woman in the middle panel has hired Mina, of all the nurses in the world, to take care of George does not bode well for our favorite florist.

    Mina is also a returning character, coming from all the way back on Feb. 4, 1941, where she assisted a crooked doctor in amputating the arm of the fugitive Krome. She’s not very bright, and her fee is an outrageous 25 cents an operation. And worth every penny. ;)

    Hmmmm Mina asks, “want me to take you out”
    That sounds ominous in this strip.

    You know… I miss those full strip splash panels that used to name a newspaper strip story. Never seem to get them anymore.
