Forgot the aborigines, as happened every century since then.

I read somewhere that back then the groups of Australian aborigines were not political and economic entities and lacked class hierarchies and chiefs. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I don’t know much about australia’s history, but that was my guess, Sam. -

Horace sure makes short speeches. The band that sang “Money for Nothing” must have had Our Favorite Horsie in mind.

As an Australian, I have to correct you. Aboriginal tribes have always had elders (leaders) and a definite hierarchy. So, yes, politics existed. There is also some evidence that small numbers of Portuguese and Dutch sailors may have landed (shipwrecked) and stayed in Australia in the 1500s. No matter, the strip was still funny. I love the comic in general, long may it last!

I don’t know if it qualifies as politics, but Aborigines, like the American Indians and African tribes, had intertribal wars.

All right! I’m always eager to learn more.

I haven’t finished DSotH 3/26 yet, it’ll be uploaded later today. Sorry for the delay.
