Mom doesn’t appreciate being cooled down on a hot summer’s day?

Where does Calvin live? There are hills, a forest, a pond, and meadows all within walking distance!

Telling Calvin to use his imagination can be a dangerous thing. Mom didn’t imagine what might happen. But at least now Calvin has one thing that he can cross off his bucket list.

Snoopy always had a vivid imagination, even when he was very young. Here is Charles Schulz’s eleventh Sunday Peanuts strip:

My parents had an instantaneous cure for “boredom”: chores. You never said you “didn’t know what to do” because they’d find something for you to do. At about age 8 I asked for a toy kitchen, like our neighbours’ kids had. I was led into the real kitchen, and put to washing dishes and cleaning cupboards.

At least he had short term fun. Mom could use another bucket full to cool down.

Is this where they got the idea to douse Gator Aid on coaches at the end of football games? If only Calvin had gotten a patent!
