Till they want something…. Then, you wouldn’t
BELIEVE how attentive they can be! And what-
ever it is you’d better bloody well give it them if you
    know what’s good for you!

So true, Calvin. Personally, I love cats, and dogs, and horses and hamsters and…you name it. But I knew a “gentleman” who frequently declared to anyone around, “The only good cat is a dead one.” When asked why he disliked them so much, he would always say, “They’re independent and selfish.” He should have looked in the mirror—in reality I think he couldn’t stand the competition.

Ironic that when that man’s kids grew up and left home, the first thing each and every one of them did was acquire a cat! When he died, his widow adopted a cat a day or two after the funeral.

Hobbes doesn’t pay much attention to amateur philosophy.

And yet we still think we can “play” with Mother Nature without consequences….

Nature didn’t know that we were coming, doesn’t care that we’re here, and will not miss us when we’re gone.

Yep. My beautiful boy, who died at 16 yrs old in November, ignored me all of the time. Then when he showed me some attention I felt like it was a privilege. Hmmm… I sound slightly pathetic. Lol
