    It’s doable. X=v0+1/2at2

Math has that effect…. I’m over 70, and still haven’t figured out the
problem of cars starting at different times & speeds – when one will
catch the other up. Or tanks filling at the top and emptying at the
bottom [at different rates] – when will the tank be full/empty…. I
never really gave a flying you-know-what. Algebra is a completely
alien ‘language’ which lost me on pag one: basic rules…minus tiimes
minus or minus divided by minus = positive. A totally artificial
intellectual exercise which is a complete turnoff. An especial
stumbling block — no one can explain how you multiply, divide, or
do ANYTHING, a negative number of times.

When you multiply negative numbers by with positive numbers, you’re adding a set of negative numbers. -1 × 5 is

    -1 + -1 + -1 + -1 + -1 = -5

Multiplying two negatives gives a positive. Negative sets of negative numbers. -1 x -5

    - (-1) – (-1) – (-1) – (-1) – (-1) = 5

Same rules apply to dividing, since it’s merely just the inverse operation. Question of how many negative numbers can you fit in a particular number.

    -5 / -1 = 5

    -1 + -1 + -1 + -1 + -1 = -5

    That’s 5 sets of -1. So -5/-1 = 5.

Are you okay with mathematics now?

Take the frictional coefficient of the snow, (0.03) and acceleration of earths gravity (9.81) and whatever the angle of the hill is (θ). The acceleration is:

Yes, because there is an IMMENSE problem with the
theory that the earth revolves around the sun: how
can it revolve around the sun, since it’s flat?

    @anjumahmed

Not really. Adding or subtracting a certain number of
times [+5 or-5] is NOT equivalent to multiplying or
dividing something a negative number of times. You
can NOT DO something x number of times, but x
will always be positive. It’s not the same as DOING
something a negative number of times. With respect
to those who believe in an omnipotent God, I doon’t
think even HE can do anything a negative number
    of times.

In the afterlife no doubt my personal hell will be to
study math for all eternity, with acid rock pounding
in my ears at maximum volume….

Sometimes I’m glad I’m a math geek and find weird problems fun. Recently I estimated how many mini marshmallows you could make out of the giant ‘Stay-puft man’ in Ghostbusters. :)

Multiplying is quite literally understood as shorthand for adding a certain number of times.

On another note, I think this will calculate Calvin’s velocity. This time taking air resistance into account.

They’re just rules. The game is defined that way. And all who play it must follow the rules. Now if we can just find the guy who wrote them, we can throw him under the bus.
