“KRUD-TV Boston: In the dead of night, a freighter from India carrying bulk tea bound for the factory of Bigelow Tea in Connecticut was hijacked and the tea thrown overboard. Investigations are underway, but spokemen from Lipton, Stash, and Tetley all declined to speak on the matter.”

Memorizing dates is the WRONG way to learn history. The WHYS and AFFECTS are more important.

Right, but the ‘educators’ of the K-12 world haven’t figured this out yet. Nor I wouldn’t hold
    my breath….

A note from your friendly – and I enphasize this – neighbourhood grammar cop: I think you

    a discussion of the difference.

Actually it was the capture of American General Charles Lee in a tavern by the British – without it ashington would not have had the troops to win the Battle of Trenton.

The Boston Tea Party was 3 days later.

Calvin should read “A Tale for the Time Being” since he is one.

Or at least the Effects. Affects are emotions. Which yes, do play quite a part in history, but in a different way.
