Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Oh, absolutely. Where I grew up (northern Utah), it wasn’t at all unusual to have an inch or two of snow on the ground for Thanksgiving. In fact, I even remember one Halloween when I went trick-or-treating in the snow!

The Pacific Northwest usually gets its first major snowstorm or arctic front the week of Thanksgiving. Not always though. It’s only recent years that Mt. Bachelor started being open for thanksgiving weekend.

When I grew up in central (rural) Ohio, we’d have snow on the ground from before Thanksgiving until April.

I lived in Canton from 1984-1999, and I remember that lake-effect snow (and the bitter cold) well (which is why I’m glad I live in Arizona now!)!

When I was a kid in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, it was taken for granted that there’d be snow on the ground for the entirety of the 9-day gun deer season. This entire century, we’ve only had the occasional dusting.

Meanwhile, here in NY, we have already lost 6 days to a hurricane, and a Nor Easter. And snow season hasn’t even started! They are looking to cancel the February break, and if we get any snow days, school could go into July.

In Victoria, Australia we sometimes get snow in December (especially Boxing Day) …
This is kinda’ unexpected … because it’s summer here.
