Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

You can’t control your thoughts. Your thoughts control you.

Calvin would get his comeuppance if the monsters captured him.

I think, therefore I am – you’re pink, therefore you’re Spam – I think, therefore you are (or aren’t).

You have to defend against them like Bogarts, imagine them in a humorous, embarrassing condition.

Gotta LOVE the third panel! XD He captured the under-the-bed monster so beautifully. Just enough to be scary, but not enough to be ridiculous. :P

At Calvin’s age I spent many Saturdays watching ’50s jungle adventure movies on TV.
I had a particularly terrific fear of piranha. A group of those pugnacious man eaters could clean my bones in a matter of seconds and nights alone in bed were terrifyingly long.
It wasn’t until some time later that I realized that I was in bed in my own room and without the Amazon river raging about me. I was in actuality safe from piranha.
But Army Ants……..

The monster would be happier and less threatening if he could get a manicure.

WOW…0_0…that scared me, and I’m 42. Calvin may need professional help down the road….

Looks like Calvin could use a Vulcan mind meld to convince him that monsters are not real.
