An animated series would have been awesome :D
But it would really have forced Watterson against his anti-commercialism deal in the end I guess :/
I mean look at the Simpsons they are in NO way as personal and dear to anyone like Calvin and Hobbes are, because their name and logo and mottos are on everything! They have marketed literally everything!
Truly Watterson is a great man with respect for personal value and proves that not everyone will give up their dignity for money.
Watterson, in my book, you are one of the greats, and a definite role model for artists and writers alike!

On the other hand, Peanuts seems to have done well and, arguably, is more dear in many people’s hearts than C&H.

You only say that because it’s more popular, which is arguably because of the marketing.

Watterson was a giant fan of Peanuts. He got a lot of inspiration C. Schulz. Both are great strips!

I love how in the last panel Hobbes reveals the accusations were true all along.
