    When the book (titled “Billy and the Boingers Bootleg”) came out it included a two-sided “single” that could be played on a record player. It wasn’t a true vinyl record thought. It was a paper-thin sheet of plastic with song cut into each side. The songs were “I’m a Boinger” and “U Stink But I Love You.” So you could indeed hear the music of DeathToungue!

    ‘Course, by missing all the daily comics, we’re missing the whole story line of why the name gets changed…

    It may have come up already and I’ve missed it, but does anyone know why we’re only getting the Sundays?

    I never realized that Opus had a last name… “Croakus”? Does anyone know if this is confirmed by any other strip in the series?

    I used to own a Billy and the Boingers Bootleg book with the “single”.

    @John Clark

    I think Croakus is just his stage name in Deathtongue. Usually he’s identified simply as Opus T. Penguin.

    Looks Mr. Breathed had a little fun with his alma mater. His “secret devil sign” looks a whole lot like the University of Texas Hook "Em sign. I could understand had this been drawn by someone from Texas A & M, the old arch-rival of Texas.

    does anyone know why we’re only getting the Sundays?

    For a few years we were getting only weekdays, and not Sunday strips. I wrote a polite note to GoComics explaining that sometimes the Sunday strip was important for the continuity of the dailies meaning “please including the Sundays from now on”.

    A couple of weeks later… lo and behold, the Sundays started appearing. But apparently they decided to publish ALL the Sundays they had missed and catch up to the weekday strips they had already published. I believe that last weekday was posted on October 15, 2012 corresponding to July 22, 1987.

    The good news is that at a rate of one year of Sundays every seven to eight weeks, all those years of missed strips have zipped by. Today’s strip corresponds to December 7, 1986 so we should catch up in 32 days… just over a month!

    These GoComics people… it seems they listen… and hear even more than what you said!

    Krokus was a real-life hair metal band from the 1980s; their biggest hits were covers of “Ballroom Blitz” and “School’s Out”, but they had a few originals like “Burning Up The Night”, “Midnight Maniac”, and “Screaming In The Night”.
    []
    Dee Snider used to routinely make fun of them on his “The House of Hair” syndicated radio show whenever someone sent in a request for one of their songs, even going so far at one point to read off a list of criticisms of the band.
