Aspiring cartoonist Nate Wright is the star of Big Nate, the daily and Sunday comic strip distributed by NEA since 1991. Nate is 11 years old, four-and-a-half feet tall, and the all-time record holder for detentions in school history. He's a self-described genius and sixth grade Renaissance Man. Nate, who lives with his dad and older sister, enjoys pestering his family and teachers with his sarcasm.

I think this explains the fascination. He’s waiting for Wink to do something unprofessional.

Hippogriff from yesterday: I grew up in Vancouver. When I moved away, it took 20 years for the webs between my toes to atrophy.

What if the burp was pre-planned and it is fake? Nah. But i still don’t understand Nate’s infatuation with Wink Summers

Weather Rock: Hang rock with rope a few feet above ground level.
If the rock is wet, it’s raining.
If the rock is swinging, the wind is blowing.
If the rock casts a shadow, the sun is shining.
If the rock does not cast a shadow and is not wet, it is cloudy.
If the rock is not visible, it is foggy.
If the rock is white, it is snowing.
If the rock is coated with ice, there is a frost.
If the ice is thick, it’s a heavy frost.
If the rock is bouncing, there is an earthquake.
If the rock is under water, there is a flood.
If the rock is warm, it is sunny.
If the rock is missing, there was a tornado.
If the rock is wet and swinging violently, there is a hurricane.

Happy b-day! I’m 11 too! Anyway, Wink is just like Nate! It’s gonna be a nightmare.

I love the strips where Nate phones Wink and comments about his tie, weight, and state of mind.
