On the other hand, at that rate, when they do finally bite you are apt to be swallowed whole.

By the time Congress acts, what needed to be done has already been done, or it’s too late to do it.

    Congress is …D————————-Against————————-R
Why can’t we be like ’The Three Musketeers"
One for all, and all for one.

FYI….It’s Army “Corp” of Engineers, as in “body”. And, from Wikipedia, their mission statement: "The Corps’ mission is to “Deliver vital public and military engineering services; partnering in peace and war to strengthen our Nation’s security, energize the economy and reduce risks from disasters”.

I prefer congress and the executive branch not to act, just to continue…cause change is rarely good and only makes things worse (no matter which party does it)

in my state where we have only a 3 month period to make laws each year, I always consider it a success when there is not very many bills passed, where as others consider it a success the more that is passed.

I think the same applies to the feds the less laws passed, the better.

Dogday- If we want to get picky here, it’s Corps, not Corp. Just sayin’.

With the Army Corps of Engineers, it’s just one dam thing after another. (Someone had to say it)

When President McKinley was shot, he lingered on for a couple of weeks. Teddy Roosevelt did not assume the presidency until McKinley actually died. Congress was out of session and the Supreme Court was in recess. In other words we had no government for several weeks and the country got along just fine.

Because we do not all want the same thing and one person’s liberty is considered another person’s uncooperation.
We want many things for all of us but do not agree regarding how to achieve it.
If you really wanted us all to work together, just have evertbody think, say and do whatever fool thing I decide. … Didn’t think so.

Actually, we did have a working federal government. The vice president filled in during the president’s incapacitation.
    .
And, of course, the government agencies had secretaries running them and the state, county and city governments were up and running.

True! So true! The less laws they make, the less damage they can do to our rights. We already have far, far too many laws. I’m not talking anarchy here but we do need far less laws!
