   Unfortunately, Portland is worse. Seattle has both less rain and fewer cloudy days. I worked in Pot City for a time and one of the guys kept track of sunless days. The first January I was there had 23 days without a sunbreak. The cloud layer normally sits about 1000 feet or so and it mists heavily for 8 to 10 months.

   Yup, visited Portland a couple of times when I worked for a very well-known, global electronics company which had its HQ there.
   

   
   Gotta’ say though I did see some beautiful, fine and sunny days … Nothing like sailing up The Columbia on a fine summerFriday night – enjoying a few “Henrys’” on the way.

   Oregon is like two Eastern states. There’s no sales tax, just like Delaware. You also can’t pump your own gas, just like New Jersey.
