Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

Cheating is cheating whether you are caught or not. Only the very lowest of people think it’s OK to cheat if you’re not caught.

This reminds me of a story I read once:
Once upon a time, there was a wise sage who knew just what to say in every situation. When asked how he could always have exactly the right words, he told a story of a man who rode into town and saw a fence with a couple dozen targets drawn on it and a perfect bulls-eye shot into each one. Amazed at the accuracy, he asked around and found that this was the work of a boy named Johnny. He had to find this kid and when he did, he said, “What’s your secret?” The boy said, “I shoot, then I draw the target around it.” The wise sage concluded: “I have spent my life gathering stories and illustrations. They’re all in my head already. When a situation arises, it’s like someone shooting into the fence. I just pull out the story and draw it around the situation.”

What a great metaphor for analyzing debate performance!
“See, here’s why what the candidate said was actually a winner, because he MEANT…”

Cute. I wonder how often this happens in real life. Something happens and we think, “Hey, it’s just like I planned.”
