No dinner for 3 months, just Mush slipped under the door; immediate enrollment at the “George Patton Military Academy for Challenging Boys”, starting in the upcoming fall semester; and finally, lifetime restriction (when home). Could be life-changing. It sure was for me!
I can almost hear the conversation tonight over the dinner table. “You know, that kids military school in the middle of upper North Dakota is not such a bad idea. Don’t look at 15K/semester as expensive. We’ll actually save money at the rate Calvin is going. The brochure say they take 100% responsibility for each student… and also, we’ll be able to smile again.”
Evidently, it has infected at least half of our nation. The problem presented allows that this particular syndrome clouds the other 50% into thinking they are also right… and as we all know, two rights don’t make a wrong. Especially with what’s left, right? But of course, that’s just the musings of a skateboarding frog.
“What could go wrong?” Surely nothing. There is (what they call) a neutral safety switch (NSS) that allows the engine to start only when the transmission is in the neutral or park position. Now, if the car is a manual shift, it’s easy peasy. Notwithstanding, I’m “certain” Calvin understands how disconnecting the shift linkage works if the car was an automatic. But since the family car looks like a Crysler K-Car, then all bets are off.
