    Just a few minutes ago at the NRA convention, Trump agreed to the terms of the debate and shrugged it off as no big deal. The he promise he would win the debate no matter the rules He then talked about the gag order vis-a-vis the debate. All off the cuff. Can your guy speak w/o a teleprompter? Should be interesting TV,

    I left Oregon in 1984 when tax payers repeatedly voted down school budgets. My position as librarian was cut. Since then education in Oregon has floundered from lack of financial support. Teaching in Arizona’s schools is not any better. Many are worse, but for other reasons. I now have the best job ever – a comfortable retirement.

    I am unaware that the rules are mutually agreed on. Trump supports feel the rules are not fair but there is little they can do about it. That was my point. If Trump wants a modification to the Biden side’s rule he will be open to negative criticism, therefore he is boxed in.

    The China auto industry is booming. “ Overseas demand for inexpensive vehicles made in China, mostly gasoline-powered models that Chinese consumers now shun in favor of electric cars, is so great that the biggest obstacle to selling more abroad is a lack of specialized ships to carry them.” (NYTimes) In 2022 China surpassed #2 Germany and “China overtook Japan as world’s top car exporter” in 2023 (BBC). The only thing keeping Chinese cars out of the US are our tariffs. Biden is raising the Trump-era tariffs even higher (NPR) to protect the American auto industry.

    Because, as Trump claimed, if Biden is re-elected and continues his policies on EV’s and trade with China, there will be no cars made in the USofA at the end of his 4 year term. They’ll be made in China, or Mexico by China, or wherever. China is already challenging US auto manufacturing and selling their cars around the world. US cars are not selling. I was shocked when I saw so many China made cars on the road on my last trip to South American. When I was in China 10 years ago I recall only a couple of poorly made Chinese cars. But I did see lots of cars imported from all over the world in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong including US made cars. I wonder where the cars on the road in those cities are made now?

    Remember the 18 minutes missing from the Nixon tape. Why is it taking the Biden team so long to edit the thing and turn it over to Congress? Perhaps when you redact what Joe said that makes him look like he’s not all there, there’s nothing left.
