Like the old joke about the factory that had two workers- a man and a dog. The man was there to feed the dog. The dog was there to keep the man from messing with the machines.
I’ve been changing my own oil since 1976. Around 2017 I bought a 2016 Toyota 4Runner. Great cat EXCEPT the oil filter is not a standard ’spin on’ filter. It has a paper element that requires several special tools and hoses for draining the oil and accessing the filter. And that’s after removing 10 bolts and a large cowl under the engine. Do you get the idea they want you to go to the dealer for oil changes??
