My husband has his great-great grandfather’s clock that he had built himself. He was from Denmark, became a clock maker in the US and built tower clocks that can be found in India and China as well as Michigan. He built a Grandfather clock for each of his children. My husband was fortunate to inherit one of them.
Ah, the superior snark sprinkled among these comments! So clever! I’m in my 80s, and Batiuk’s describing something I’m familiar with – getting up to pee, coming back to bed, and, for me, cozying up to a warm spouse. Snark? Grow some empathy!
In the 1970s, I was a reporter for a suburban Detroit newspaper, covering city council meetings. When someone I was taking notes on said “I don’t know,” I wrote “IDK.” So I’ve thought in the last decade or so that I must have coined the abbreviation. Can someone prove me wrong?
I lived in Iowa City within walking distance of the stadium, had season tickets for 2 years so got to watch the greats of Big 10 football in the 70’s. I’ve lived in Michigan for 30 years. And I’m still convinced there’s nothing better than SEC football. I grew up in the south and nothing beats the excitement of an underdog that gets worked up and beats the favored team.
More than wise. Janis is a babe, and always be to him…to me too, for that matter. I married my third wife 9 years ago, when she was 66, I was 77. She’s still hot, and I’m still leering. We seem to keep either younger than our years.
Some saliva?
