I like to think that if Calvin and his family went to one of the Disney theme parks or the Six Flags parks or someplace cool like that instead of yet another horrible camping trip, the fun and happy vibes of those places would cause Calvin’s Dad to spontaneously combust. :P
“We big picture people”? Oh, so you can read their minds all of a sudden. :P That’s what happens when your ego gets as big as Calvin’s. You can’t use a personal example as empirical evidence.
I was never a big fan of the conversation Calvin’s Parents have in this strip. What, do we all have to win the Nobel Peace Prize and carry it around with us everywhere we go? Do we all have to say this to each other? holds up the Nobel Peace Prize and points to it I really am a good person, ya know. You think I’m not, just check it out.
One of my favorite cases of irony. XD So according to Calvin’s Dad’s perspective, when he preaches things, it’s awesome. When cartoons preach things, it’s an atrocity. :P
Except not really. Their reputation only preceded them because Calvin made it precede them. He outright told the Martian about how people on the Earth have messed up the environment. So yeah, not a very good icebreaker. :P Come on, Calvin, didn’t you learn anything from the fourth Star Trek movie? ;) “It’s not always necessary to tell the truth.”
It is nice of Calvin to describe his mom as a superheroine. :) It’s just too bad that her superpower is only being in a good mood once in a blue moon. :P
“Mom would be a lot more fun if she was a little more gullible.”
And a lot less of a stick in the mud. Yeah, how dare a little kid have fun. Who does he think he is?
