If one is paying attention, it is hard not to get that way these days. I think there is a movement afoot to get us to stop paying attention.

Do they still have those news sales booths on the streets of major cities anymore? (I don’t get out much these days.)

It is interesting that you have taken my reply to Smartman as negative or from a position of ignorance of the situation leading to the development of the vaccine. I call it a “miracle”, because I consider it massive success on the part of the medical community. I do know of the prepositioning of the technology and am amazed at the speed of the response. I come from the era of Polio suffering and the discovery of a cure. I am prejudiced toward thinking of vaccines as good.

I have read everything Clarke wrote.

Are you a libertarian who doesn’t like his opinions questioned? Otherwise, I don’t understand why you have taken a negative attitude toward my post. I try to keep my comments terse and helpful, but I, sometimes, forget that every reader comes from a different direction, and I can never accommodate everyone’s perspective on any given day. Cheers.

Well, with both a new coach and a new QB, anything could happen. I’d be happy to have a team that just starts every game with a CHANCE of winning.

    “Think Wall drug SD”

I’d rather not. What a waste of landscape, all those signs.

I see your statement that they are stupid, because they think everyone is good and will do the right thing. I’d like to add that some of them are stupid because they assume just the opposite, that many are so bad that one shouldn’t trust them when they offer them a “miracle” vaccine that will save their lives. Or an inspection system to assure the meat you buy won’t kill them, or a system to keep airplanes from crashing into each other, or that can provide their kids with educational opportunities they cannot get from Mom and Dad. Must I go on?

I hope they can still do a good job. It is good you have such dedicated and generous townsfolk.

Here too, and since its resources are supplied by town funds, as well as private contributions, I’d call it a government agency.
