That is good news. I can stay indoors and get away from heat and humidity. I am used to heat. Humidity, not so much. But it’s hard to get away from tornadoes, even in a basement. I mean, if the whole house collapses in on itself, you’re kind of trapped in the basement. I lived with tornadoes as a child. So glad to have gotten away from that threat.

I can go indoors to get away from the heat. Can’t really hide from tornadoes! And after living here for 45 years I have gotten to the point where I am much happier with hot than cold.

She is gorgeous. I’ve seen videos. Pretty amazing they can keep a full grown panther.

The females of the larger cat species that live in packs are usually the hunters, so, yeah. They are the brave ones.

So much of that going on lately! I am so glad to be living in Southern Arizona where we don’t have those problems. I am praying the weather ameliorates somewhat in July when I am going to Nashville. Tornados scare the bejeezus out of me!

The only house panther I had was a street cat who we adopted when we lived in France. We lived on the second floor of an apartment building and he would come up the stairs to come and go to our place. We named him Charbon (French for coal). When we were getting ready to move back to the States we sent him back to our house in Homewood, Illinois. He lived with us there until he passed.

All really great examples! So glad I didn’t have to learn English as a second language!

So many English terms that are like this. Why is cargo sent on a ship, and a shipment is sent by a vehicle (truck, car, whatever). How can something be jumbo shrimp? I know there are others. Anybody? And we wonder why people find English hard to learn.
