Bliss is copying the style of E. H. Shepard, who did the illustrations for A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh. If you don’t have a paper copy, go on line and check out Shepard’s drawings for the book. Bliss did a pretty good job here!
Maybe light comes in from a light outside when they sleep with the window open, and it bothers her more than him because she sleeps on the side of the bed near the window (personal experience with a neighbor’s overly-sensitive motion detector).

For some reason I decided to read the Wikipedia article on norovirus. Apparently another term for it is “winter vomiting bug.” Which, I hate so say, sounds funny — like a ladybug wearing a hat and scarf carrying a little tiny bucket just in case. But seriously, norovirus is no fun — I have had it a couple of times. I’m glad everyone is back to being chipper again!
